Mar 13 -- 5th Annual London Indie Media Fair

Apparently the London Public Libraries host a pretty hefty series of events weekly, and this happens to be one of them! For more details on their other events, you can access the online calendar HERE, you can also filter by location based on whereabouts in London you live: Masonville Branch, Central Branch (downtown at Galleria), and Cherrryhill (on Oxford) are some helpful suggestions!

Anyway, I used to work on one of London's Indie Media zines, and those guys were always really excited about this event, so I thought I'd share it with you if anyone's interested... As a university town, there are a lot of very talented individuals and activists who live here, many of whom have been really integral to the social justice scene in Canada in the past few years. This event is dedicated to bringing those individuals and groups together to one place, so they can share ideas with eachother and with newcomers (you, maybe!), and hopefully spread the word about their media productions...

From the website:

The Indie Media Fair is an event to promote the creation and distribution of independently produced media. Artists, writers, musicians, and publishers will gather to show, sell and trade their ideas.

Kane X. Faucher presents Scholartist at 1 pm.
Iconoclast presents Intellectual Self Defense at 2 pm.
Brian Frank presents the Convergence of Social and Independent Media at 3 pm.
