Jeff Preston is a phenomenally inspirational MIT grad who set off on.. well, I'll let his site explain:
On May 5th 2008, Jeff Preston set off in his electric wheelchair from the steps of City Hall on a 650km marathon across the province to raise awareness about the lack of accessible transportation in Ontario. Accomplishing his mission 42 days later, Jeff stated upon arriving in Ottawa that "This may be the end of the March, but it is just the beginning of the journey."
From the beginning, the March has been about more than just accessibility for the disabled. The Mobilize March is about getting people moving, mobilizing within our community to make it sustainable and inclusive for everyone. Spending the last two years working both locally and provincially to improve accessible transportation, it is now time for Jeff to help make London inclusive for everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, faith or ability.
On March 4th 2010 at 1pm, Jeff will return to the place it all began, the front steps of City Hall, to make an important announcement about the next step in his journey. Please come out and celebrate this exciting news with Jeff and his supporters!
Together, we can get people moving.
